FAQ and general information

The Cambridge Munch is a regular social meeting point for people on the BDSM, fetish and kink scene.

What do we mean by BDSM, Fetish and Kink?

BDSM is a broad term, incorporating many activities such as Bondage and Discipline (B & D), Dominance and Submission (D & S) and Sadism and Masochism (S & M). Of course that would be BDDSSM, so lets get rid of the redundant letters to make BDSM. In addition to all the activities, there's plenty of fetish dressing up involved too. As much PVC and leatherette as you can wave a can of polish at.

This covers a wide spectrum of behaviors, genders and sexualities, so what we are is welcoming and understanding. Some people like to be tied up, others like to do the tying. Some people like to be flogged, other like to do the flogging. Some just like to dress up in acrylic beige. Some act in a dominant manner, then spend hours masochistically watching England play cricket. A very mixed lot indeed.

Some are ridiculous exhibitionists and perform at the drop of a hat. Others don't like to do anything in public, but enjoy the support that the Munch can offer.

We support are acts that are SAFE, SANE and CONSENSUAL. We all want to have fun, but we all need to make sure we play within our physical and psychological limits.

We have nothing to do with any morally reprehensible activities - that is, where no consent has been obtained, or where the parties involved are not of legal age, or where the borders of legality have been passed. So if you do something illegal you are on your own. You have been warned!

Privacy

Some people are happy to be known by their real name, some have pseudonyms and alter-egos. It's up to you.

NO CAMERAS!

Age

To be accepted as a member, you must be over the age of 18. If there is any doubt, you will be asked to prove it. You'll have to do this anyway, to get a drink at the bar.

Dress code

The bottom line is that the fetish scene is not exclusively about dressing up and a Munch is about providing a safe, comfortable space for people to socialise.

The dress code at the munch is relaxed - that is the pub we meet in is very accepting and we meet in a private room so you can wear whatever you want. We like to encourage scene regulars to take advantage of that as it's great to see people dressed up. However, for newbies we are very happy to see you in normal street clothes - and as a lot of people come on to the munch after work, we don't really expect you to magically transform into something kinky. Regardless, the munch is open to the public and we share the bar and toilets with the rest of the pub downstairs, so the main rule is to wear what you are comfortable with.

We do try to have themed evenings, but the bottom line os that you can come along in whatever you fancy. But NO nudity. Please. This is a gay pub, with some vanilla customers - they've seen BDSM before, but we don't want to push our luck.

Behavior

DON'T be a prat. If you are unsure, ask.

How to keeping in touch

For day to day witterings and general guff, we encourage you to join both the East Anglia BDSM Yahoo Group and the Forum. We don't have a separate Mailing list for the Cambridge group. Alas! Alack! One used to exist, in the dim an distant past...

If you don't have a Yahoo! account go to Yahoo and get one from the front page.

Once you have a Yahoo account, subscribe to the Mailing List by going to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EastAngliaBDSM

After a day or two, your account will be approved - an anti spam measure. You will need to have your age and location set in your Yahoo! profile. And remember, you have to be over 18.

If you find yourself having trouble, then feel free to contact one of the EABDSM administrators. Alternatively visit the EABDSM site for a bit more information.

You can also join our forum, by going to EABDSM Forum and simply signing up!
